American Indian Nations have unique languages, spiritual beliefs, customs, and dress. To illustrate the variety of languages, here are several different ways to say 'hello'.

Note: Pronunciations vary with each tribe and region

Cherokee: Osiyo
Cheyenne: Pévevóona'o (actual translation is "Good morning")
Cree:

Tansi (actual translation "how is it?")
Choctaw: Halito
Dakota: Hau (a man says 'hau' and a woman says 'han')
Hawaiian: Aloha
Hupa: He:yung
Lenape:
Mayan: Ba'ax ka wa'alik (literally "what do you say?")
Mohawk: Kwe (or Sekoh)
Ojibwe: Aanii
Potawatomi: Bozho
